MAP Quality Control voices concern for the UK Government’s proposed drop in Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) for solar photovoltaics (PV).
Having reviewed the Government’s consultation paper on the FIT (Phase 1 – Tariffs for Solar PV), MAP Quality Control (MAP QC) warns that although it understands that the tariff needs to be reduced to ensure that the Government’s budget remains sustainable, it feels the proposed drop from 43.3p to 21p per watt for a domestic installation is too extreme. The impact that MAP QC envisages is that after 12 December 2011, when the current generation tariffs end in their existing setup, the market will become price-sensitive.
“We are really concerned that the proposed drop in Feed-in-Tariffs are drastic and will affect the…

MAP Environmental, leading Solar Photovoltaic (PV) distributor in the UK, is pleased to announce that its ZN Shine solar panels have ranked the highest for yield output out of all mono- and poly-crystalline panels tested in PHOTON Laboratory’s field assessment. One of the most important factors for operators is the yield of a panel.
ZN Shine’s solar panels were tested over the course of 2010 with 116 other solar panel brands. The solar panels were measured for yield output in “real-world” conditions; three units of each model were installed in an open field, free from shadowing, facing south at a 28˚ angle. PHOTON Lab’s proprietary devices take second-by-second measurements of the IV curve for each module and also capture other…
